DAVID’S SALON NAIL TECHNICIAN WINS AT NAIL ART COMPETITION

David’s Salon SM Pampanga Nail Technician Abegail Quiambao placed second runner-up in the first ever Nailympics: Girlstuff Nail Polish Battle of Salon Nail Artists. The competition was held during the Beauty and Wellness Manila 2019 Trade Show last Sept 21, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center. In an afternoon when creativity and skill was on full display, 11 nail technicians from all over the metro competed and made fantastic nail art designs at the SMX Convention Center Stage Area. Each participant created two manicure looks as there were two rounds of competition, the themes of which were decided on-the-spot. For Round 1, the theme was Retro, and for Round 2, it was Sariling Atin.

Other David’s Salon nail technicians who joined the competition were Jannaiza Batrina of SM Center Imus, Michelle Cabardo of Festival Mall, Sherlene Castillo of SM Sucat, Apple Sales of SM San Jose del Monte, Mary Ann Uy of SM Fairview 2. David’s Salon Creative Director Ms. Laura Charlton, who heads the training and development of all nail technicians, was there to personally support the contestants.

For the Retro category, Quiambao created a colorful mixed print stripes and polka dots pattern, embellished with glitter stripes. Her entry for the Sariling Atin category had a mix of Rizal portraits done in black and white, a plume to illustrate the power of Rizal’s written works, and artistically-arranged crystals in red, blue, and gold on a white background. She won P3,000 in cash and P5,000 worth of Girlstuff products.
